When choosing a physician, it is important to make an informed decision. This involves knowing the qualifications, training and experience of your physician. Our Board Certified doctors are trained in today’s modern diagnostics, treatment procedures and equipment.
Kevin D. O'Brien, M.D. attended Dartmouth College prior to receiving his medical degree from Tufts University Medical School in 1967. He then practiced general medicine for the U.S. Public Health Service and was commanding officer of their clinic in Portland, Maine. Subsequently, he completed his residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital in New York in 1973. Dr. O'Brien has been practicing in Fall River since 1974.
Robert J. Vergnani, M.D. graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1965. He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1969. He completed his residency training at the Albany Center Hospital, Albany, New York in 1973. For the next two years he was Chief of Ophthalmology at Walson Army Hospital in Fort Dix, New Jersey. Dr. Vergnani has been practicing in Fall River since 1975.
Robert M. Kelly, M.D. graduated from Boston College in 1991. He received his medical degree from New York University in 1995. He did an internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital Center in New York, after which, he returned to NYU for his residency and a fellowship in the medical treatment of Diabetic Eye Disease and Macular Degeneration. Dr. Kelly joined Center for Sight in 2003.

Fatima M. Raposo, O.D. graduated from Salve Regina College in 1988. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1997. She completed her training with a post graduate internship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Providence, RI. Dr. Raposo has also completed additional training in the treatment and management of glaucoma. She is licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dr. Raposo has been a member of the American Optometric Association. She is also an active member of the Rhode Island Optometric Association where she currently holds the office of President. Dr. Raposo joined Center for Sight in 1997.
Cristina M. Lopes, O.D. graduated from Rhode Island College in 1996. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 2000. Dr. Lopes has received the Therapeutic Certification of Treatment and Management and is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Dr. Lopes joined Center for Sight in 2001.
